What’s it like to design at Ditto?
Ditto is a design-driven company. Our design function has high ownership around identifying and shaping problem spaces, exploring solutions, and helping to drive implementation. We don’t have a product function—instead, both design and engineering own the product lens. We think this is critical for Ditto’s product, which used by design and engineering teams in their day-by-day workflows.
We’re creating a new product category, and we’re still early. We’re constantly discovering new, hairy, ambiguous problems and opportunities every day, guided by our customers, data, and our product design principles.
You’ll have the opportunity to shape not just the product, but the company itself—how we work and how we work together.
We’re a remote-first team, and you can work from anywhere in the US or Canada. Being remote-first means we work hard to collaborate clearly and consistently.
Our values
- Think through solutions from first principles
- Own the outcome
- Be a multiplier
- Communicate with empathy and humility
As an early member of our design team, you’ll be responsible for:
- Defining and designing our core product, from strategy to execution. As the second designer on our team, you’ll have an outsized impact on defining not only what Ditto is and how it works, but what we do next.
- Shaping the company and our culture. You will help us further and deepen our design-driven approach to building products by working in the open together with developers and customer-facing team members, sharing intentionally and thoughtfully, and collaborating cross-functionally end-to-end.
We’re looking for people who have:
- Strong product design skills with demonstrable taste and craft, from research and ideation to interaction and interface design, with particular focus on tools supporting complex user workflows.
- A bias for systems thinking—how people, data, and design solutions flow and relate and fit together.
- Curiosity and interest in developer concepts, tooling, and workflows, along with experience working cross-functionally with engineering partners from design to implementation.
- Ability to manage complexity and ambiguity; able to break down big, hairy problems into actionable, meaningful product solutions.
- High agency and ownership in driving projects from discovery to delivery.
- Empathy, humility, and clarity in sharing ideas, giving and receiving feedback, and making decisions.
- A love and appreciation for copy and writing.
