August Product Spotlight: Collaboration Workflows in Ditto

The Ditto Team
|
September 2, 2024

Product copy is often important to everyone, yet owned by no one. In reality, creating great product text is a team effort. It involves input from product managers, marketers, engineers, designers, and even legal and compliance teams. At first glance, getting all these opinions might sound like a recipe for chaos. But with the right system, this collaboration can lead to seriously better outcomes for your business. This month, we're digging into some of Ditto’s built-in collaboration features that you can start using today to build a seamless review process! Looking for the best way to get started? Check out this guide to building a copy review and handoff workflow for your team.

🚦 Text Review Statuses

There are 3 status options in Ditto:

  • 🛑 Work in Progress
  • 🔶 Ready for Review
  • ✅ Final

To let someone know text is ready for review, just set the status, assign the reviewer, and leave a comment with any specific questions or notes.

Statuses from Ditto will also show up in the layer names in Figma files, and developers can fetch status alongside the copy itself — so there won’t be any more questions about whether copy has been finalized.

⏱️ Suggest Edits and Track Changes

If you’re collaborating with your team on a piece of text, you can edit it directly or you can suggest edits directly in Ditto. Just toggle the text dropdown from “editing” to “suggesting” and leave your proposed changes!

All edits and suggestions are tracked in the Activity Log, so you can always keep track of feedback no matter how many opinions you’re juggling.

🫡 Custom Roles & Permissions

On our Team, Growth, and Enterprise plans, you can define different levels of access for users in your workspace. There are 3 levels of access: admin, can edit, and can comment.

Bring team members right into Ditto with the right levels of access to streamline copy workflows and ensure they only have access to the information that are relevant for them. Invite Product Managers, Marketing counterparts, or Legal and Compliance teams and keep them focused on the right copy to review.
